Ministry of Culture launches ‘National Cultural Awards’ initiative

The Saudi Ministry of Culture announced on Tuesday the launch of the National Cultural Awards initiative. It is open for participation and nomination through a dedicated electronic platform http://culturalawards.moc.gov.saThe platform will receive nominations for three months from all creative domains in the Saudi cultural sector.The initiative is part of the Quality of Life Program, one of the 2030 Vision programs. It is presented by the Ministry of Culture to honor creative people in the Saudi cultural domain, including 14 cultural awards that will be given annually to the most prominent cultural achievements by individuals or institutions.The Ministry will grant the Cultural Person of the Year Award to a pioneer based on personal contributions to the enrichment and development of one of the cultural sectors and to raising awareness and their ability to usher a cultural movement.A dedicated electronic platform will be used to nominate people for the Cultural Institutions Awards and will include four pathways: Nominations by institutions or companies, nominations by other institutions, nominations by expert committees affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, or nominations by the public.The other 11 awards will use three pathways; self-nominations, nominations by intellectuals and creative people, or nominations by expert committees affiliated with the Ministry of Culture.
